Tóm tắt
Objectives: To study the relationship between morphology of blastocyst and chromosomal abnormality. Subjects and methods: Retrospective, cross-sectional descriptive study in 953 day-5 embryos analyzed for preimplantation genetic screening (PGS), at Assisted Reproductive Technology center, 16A Ha Dong General Hospital, from February 2018 to May 2019. Results: The rates of mosaic, numerical abnormality and structural abnormality were 56.68%, 36.6% and 6.68%, respectively. Normal blastocysts accounted for the majority in good morphological embryo group (69.1%). The incidence of 1, 2 or 3 chromosome abnormalities per embryo increased gradually in the medium and bad morphology embryos group. A higher proportion of chromosome abnormality was found in association with low expansion degree, inner cell mass (ICM) and trophectoderm (TE) grade C. The top quality morphology of day-5 embryo was associated with the decreasing risk of chromosome abnormality (OR = 0.22; 95%CI = 0.16 - 0.29; p < 0.001). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between morphological blastocyst and chromosome abnormality. The low expansion degree, TE and ICM grade C, and poor quality morphological blastocyst was associated with the increasing rate of chromosome abnormality.
* Keywords: Chromosome abnormality; Blastocyst; Morphology; In vitro fertilization; Preimplantation Genetic Screening.
